Let's face it, good
design assures, not only
years of pleasure
but, that your
investment will last a
long time. Although it
can be fun to follow
trends, classic designs
are timeless and by
bringing in some
contemporary touches
they can make an
environment seem "up to
date" or current.
Sometimes it's a matter
of editing, so that the
statement that you are
trying to make isn't
lost. Whatever the case,
every problem has a
solution and we at Mood
help you find the
solutions for your
problems, we listen and
help you create the mood
you want. Here are some
questions you should ask
yourself in preparation
for your new
design:
Do you have children?
Do you have pets?
Is storage an issue?
What is you primary goal?
Raising your homes resale value?
Improving your home's curb appeal?
Comfort?
Changing the look and feel altogether?
Use of space?
Traffic?
Lighting?
What is the Mood you would like to create, for example, would you like to create a peaceful Mood, a Luxurious Mood, an inviting Mood etc. and finally, know that this is YOUR project, your home, what is the feeling or style you would like to give the Mood we're creating?
I recently had a client ask me to help her create the Mood of a tranquil Spa getaway in Jamaica. Since her life is very hectic and fast paced, it was important to create an environment that felt calm, relaxing and inviting with design that was open and airy, inspired by resorts and that had a subtle elegance heavy with the Jamaican influence. Many people spend a lot of money on "getting away". They could spend that money on making their homes a getaway everyday. So you might ask yourself what your favorite vacation was. Why? and What kind of person are you? what is your life like? This may seem like a lot but, in order to insure the overall success of creating the Mood of your environment these, and more, should be considered.
